Biography
Hunter is the son of former MWA star “Playboy” Al Galpin, who had tried to keep his son out of the wrestling business. But Hunter decided to ignore his father, and sought out an MWA Hall-of-Famer Tim Worthington to be his trainer. He took to the ring like a duck to water, and Worthington recommended he head to the US to continue his training at the MWA House of Pain.
Hunter decided not to use his family name, instead choosing to his middle name as his wrestling surname. This was to avoid any reputational link to his father, who was not well received from his time in the US.
At the House of Pain Hunter learned quickly and caught the eye of several of the coaches. Hunters graduation test came in the form of a match against MWA legend Jackie Sweets. Hunter got the win, with a little help from John Patrick, which Hunter was not happy about and caused him to decline his graduation… until Sweets demanded he accept. Shortly after Hunter confirmed publicly that he had signed his first pro contract with the MWA.
