MWA: Tim & Dan Divine

The contest then swings in Johnson’s favour as he nails a series of moves one after the other. Suplexes, arm drags, clotheslines. Alexander James seems to be in trouble until a Johnson clothesline attempt is ducked. James bounces off the ropes and nails a lariat to the back of Reginalds head. Both men are laid out as the crowd chants for both men once more.

Just as both men are starting to stir another man is seen running down the aisle to the ring. He slides under the ropes and clotheslines Mick Monsoon before grabbing Reginald Johnson. He gets Johnson in a Cobra Clutch and then Bulldogs him into the canvas!

Regi- DAN DIVINE! That’s Dan Divine!

Poe- And that was Johnson’s own move! Taught by the Streets!

Baxter- Business just picked up here…

Divine stares down Alexander James, pointing at the now limp body of Reginald Johnson. He shouts at AJ, “PIN HIM!”. AJ is unsure what to do, he eventually shakes his head at Divine.

Poe- Divine taking down one of the enemy soldiers, trying to recruit the new guy?

Regi- It sure looks that way. But I’m not sure AJ is willing to be rectruited!

Divine smiles wickedly and shakes his head. Divine turns away from AJ just as Tim Worthington is sliding into the ring!

Regi- TIM WORTHINGTON!

Poe- The MWA Hall of Famer is here, in the ring.

Regi- And headed right for Divine!

Divine is caught by surprise and Worthington rocks him with a set of big right hands and left jabs. He boots Divine in the gut, steps back and then leaps into the air, getting a leg over the head of Divine and drilling it into the canvas.

Poe- Hope ‘n Glory! We’ve not seen that in the MWA in a long time!

Worthington motions to AJ to help Reginald Johnson get back to his feet. AJ does help his opponent, standing him in the corner. Divine is back to his feet and charges for Worthington, clotheslining him over the ropes. Tim manages to hold on and pulls himself up onto the ring apron. Divine charges again, getting a big boot into the face of Worthington, sending him crashing off the ring apron and falling backwards. Tim cracks the back of his head on the guard rail before slumping to the arena floor.

Poe- DAMN!

Regi- That looked painful!

Poe- Worthington could be out!

Divine notices that Mick Monsoon is beginning to stir so he slides out of the ring and begins to back away up the entrance ramp.

Poe- I don’t think Divine’s intervention quite went to plan here.

Regi- But he’s damaged his opponent somewhat, that will be some form of consolation for him!

Later that night…

Backstage we see Tim Worthington being looked at by one of the MWA medical crew.

Tim- Is there blood, doc? I hate blood.

Doc- There’s a little. But nothing major, you’ll be fine.

Tim- Oh, good. You still going to let me kick Divine’s arse, right?

The doc laughs and nods.

Doc- Yes, I don’t see any reason to pull you from the match. It was just a slight blow really, no damage done.

Tim- Glad to hear it.

Just then the door to the room bursts open and Dan Divine and Gabriel Gambino storm in. Gambino grabs the doctor by the collar and throws him out of the room.

Gabe- We’ll take care of Mr Worthington, doc. No need for you to be here.

Gambino shuts the door right in the way of the camera, stopping us from seeing what’s going on inside the room. There’s shouting and grunting coming from inside the room for a few moments until the Tim Worthington’s head appears… through the door!

Worthington vs. Divine was then cancelled, Tim replaced by Jackie Sweets!
