PSW: August & JPD vs. Jousma & Kaboom

Trenton finally left the ring, and we were ready for our next match, which was truly the one the fans were waiting for. The crowd were on their feet for “The People’s Choice” August Joyce as he came to the ring. He climbed into the ring, talking to the fans as he did so, waiting for his partner. He didn’t have to wait long as the other half of Ascended Supremacy, Jace Parker Davidson, stepped out to his music by Shinedown. The crowd, already aware of who he is from his time in SCCW, don’t like him. Jace didn’t seem to care. Jace climbed into the ring, looked at August, and said a few things to him. August, flashed a smile, and replied in kind. The two seem to have an understanding, but are definitely not friendly.

Then POD’s “Boom” begins and the crowd pop loudly. Even Joyce, who got a pretty good pop, took notice, as the Peach State Champion, Kidd Kaboom, stepped from the entrance. Kaboom came to the ring with the belt, looking to add another one around his waist, slapping the hands of the fans at ringside, before climbing into the ring. However, then the moment everyone was waiting for. The debut of Jay Jousma…the NWA Rising Star. “Justice” by Rev Theory hit and out came Jousma, and the crowd was deafening. This was the biggest star Peach State Wrestling had seen since our debut, and the crowd recognized it immensely. You could tell that the larger crowd came out to see Jousma. Jousma came to the ring, slapping the hands of the fans, similar to what Kaboom was doing. Even Kaboom, who was our champion, seemed a little impressed at the pop Jousma received. Jousma and Kaboom stood next to each other, and it was obvious they were on the same page, and had been from the start. These two were ready for tonight.

The bell sounded and Jace Parker Davidson chose to start things off, telling Joyce to sit back and watch. Joyce bowed and left the ring, a little smirk on his face, like this should be good. It was Jousma and Kaboom that decided to do it fair and square. They did it the ole Rock, Paper, Scissors method. With Kaboom getting paper to Jousma’s rock, Kaboom would start things off for their team.

Kaboom and Jace locked up. Despite Kaboom having a slight size advantage, there wasn’t much difference in the two men, however, Kaboom quickly got the headlock, turning it into a quick hammerlock, and then an armbar. Jace reversed it into an arm bar of his own, but Kaboom switched it right back to his advantage. Jace grabbed a handful of Kaboom’s hair and yanked it back, forcing Kaboom to go into the corner. Matt called for the break, and just when it looked like Jace was going for the clean break, he catches Kaboom with a throat thrust, right into a hiptoss out of the corner. Kaboom lands on his back, but rolls to his feet. Jace goes for a running clothesline, but Kaboom ducked it, and rolls toward his own corner, and tagged in Jay Jousma.

Jousma climbed into the ring, and Jace smiled, as the two people knew each other from their time at NWA events. They didn’t really like each other more on principal than anything else. The two locked up, and this time, it was Jace who got the advantage, a cocky smile on his face from getting the headlock, but the smile quickly disappears as Jousma drags Jace back into the ropes, and pushes him to the otherside. Jace rebounds off the ropes, going for a running clothesline, but Jousma ducks it, as Jace goes for the ropes again. Jace rebounds, right as Jousma went for the whole ball of wax in his first move…the Silvergun Superkick.

The kick came within inches of Jace’s head, but Jace had grabbed the top rope with his hand, which helped himself to slingshot backwards, just missing what could have been the end of the match right there. Jace quickly tagged in Joyce, and dropped out of the ring to take a breather. Jousma stared at Jace, and held up his fingers, letting him know how close it was to being over. Jace just shrugged, and pointed to his head, letting him know he outthought Jousma this time. It was at this time August Joyce chimed in telling Jousma he should be worried about the guy in the ring. This got Jousma’s attention, and he turned his attention to Joyce. The two locked up, and it was Joyce who got a quick armbar on Jousma. Jousma quickly turned it into one of his own, but Joyce spun around, wrapping his arms around Jousma, lifting him up, and planting him on the mat with a waistlock take down. Joyce spins around on Jousma’s back, getting a rear chinlock on Jousma, pulling his neck backwards.

Jousma struggled for some kind of leverage, but it was Joyce who lets up on it, driving a forearm across the back of Jousma’s head. Joyce slides off of Jousma, instead focusing on his arm, driving a stomp into his arm. Jousma grabbed his arm and rolled away from another stomp by Joyce. Jousma got back to his feet, but Joyce grabbed his arm, and flips him over with an arm drag, locking in the arm bar after Jousma hits the mat. Jousma fought back to his feet, nailing Joyce with a left jab, and another, and another. Joyce lets go of the hold and stumbles backwards, but then suddenly fires back with a wild right hand that misses him completely. Joyce is turned around from the missed punch, and Jousma grabbed him from behind, lifting him up, and plans him on his neck and shoulders with a German suplex. Jousma got back to his feet, and tagged in Kaboom. Jousma holds up Joyce’s arm, and Kaboom stands on the apron, and springboards into the ring, connecting with a dropkick as Jousma backs out of the way.

Joyce hit the mat hard and Kaboom went for a cover. He got a one count, but despite the fact that Joyce was already kicking out, Jace came in and drove a kick into Kaboom’s back, not trusting Joyce to kick out on his own. Kaboom shakes off the kick, staring at Jace for a second as he’s leaves the ring. Kaboom runs to the otherside of the ring, coming straight for Joyce, but Joyce rushes forward, catching Kaboom in mid run, lifting him up, and spinning him around with a spinning side slam. He plants Kaboom down hard, and then dropped backwards tagging in Jace.

Jace doesn’t waste anytime as he rushes in, going for a cover. The cover only gets him a two count as Kaboom got a shoulder up, still winded from Joyce’s powermove. Jace ran to the ropes, jumping up onto them, and flipping backwards with an Asai moonsault, crashing down on top of Kaboom, once again going for a cover. Jousma doesn’t let it get very far, as he drives a kick to the back of Jace, before immediately heading out of the ring. Jace got back to his feet, saying something to Jousma, before turning back, lifting Kaboom to his feet, when out of nowhere, Kidd Kaboom hit the BadaBOOM on Jace. Jace literally bounces from the impact of the move, landing on his back. Kaboom rolls over, somehow managing to get an arm over Jace. The crowd is on their feet, but are disappointed as Joyce grabbed Kaboom’s foot and dragged him off of him. The crowd can’t believe it, and neither can Jousma, as he came running across the ring, connecting with a huge clothesline that sends both him and Joyce over the top rope, crashing to the floor below.

Kaboom slowly got to his feet and saw that Jace was still down. He then points to the top rope. The crowd went crazy, having no clue what he was about to do, but it was something. A moment everyone will remember. Kaboom climbed to the top rope. He held both of his hands into the air, measuring, and then leapt off the top rope, coming crashing down on top of Jace with a top rope elbow drop, an obvious tribute to Randy Savage. The crowd, especially the older ones, knew exactly what it was all about, as the crowd goes wild. Kaboom crawled back over and covered.

This one should have been over. Matt’s hand dropped three times, but he saw something as his hand came down the third time. Jace’s foot had gotten onto the bottom rope. The crowd couldn’t believe it. Nobody could believe it.

Kaboom slowly got to his feet, and measures Jace. He wanted another BadaBOOM. He waves his hand, begging for Jace to get back to his feet, and he starts to. Jace has his back turned toward Kaboom, and then slowly turns. Kaboom went for the BadaBOOM, but Jace blocked it, grabbing Kaboom’s head, leaping up, and planting his knees into Kaboom’s back, bringing him down with a backstabber. Kaboom bounces onto his gut, and Jace falls backwards. The crowd is stunned, as both men in the ring are exhausted.

On the outside of the ring, Joyce went for a running clothesline, as Jousma hung on the ringpost, but Jousma ducked, and Joyce crashed into the post. Joyce went down to the floor, while Jousma ran over to his side of the ring, jumping up onto the apron, begging for the tag. Kaboom starts to move, and leaps forward, tagging in Jay Jousma. Jousma leaps into the ring, rushing toward Jace, who had just gotten to one knee, catching him with a running knee lift. The move rockets Jace to his feet, knocking him back into the ropes. Jousma uses the momentum to whip him to the otherside, coming back with a huge jumping shoulder block. Jace went down again.

On the edge of the ring, near the corner, Kaboom begins to get to his feet, still not out of the ring yet. But nobody is paying attention to him, because Jousma is telling Jace to get to his feet, as he is readying for his move again. Jace starts to get up and turns. The move sends shockwaves from the power behind it as it strikes…Kidd Kaboom.

Jace ducked at the last minute, and Kaboom walked right into it. Kaboom’s head is nearly taken off, as he drops down and out of the ring. Jousma didn’t even see what happened, from the force he put in behind it, he starts to fall backwards, but Jace is there, rolling him up. Matt drops down, and as his back is turned, Jace props both feet up on the ropes for extra leverage, getting a three count. As soon as Matt’s hand lands for the three, Jace drops down off the ropes, and rolls out of the ring, his hands in the air as the bell rings.

The crowd is stunned at Jousma and Kaboom losing in the first round. Jace and Joyce will move on to the finals. It was an amazing match, and I can’t wait to see these four mix it up in the future. Jousma climbed out of the ring and saw to Kaboom, who barely is able to stand on his own. It would be Jace and Joyce against Empires and Dixie in the finals. One of the those teams will wind up as the Peach State Tag Team Champions.
