Dave Spikey – “The Betamax Kid”
Once trained to be a wrestler with August, but dropped out and went on to work as a personal trainer at a local Vancouver gym. Dave, known as Spike to his friends, is originally from Liverpool, England and moved to Canada for his wrestling training. August has always considered Spike’s wrestling ability to be more technically sound, believing he could have achieved more success if only he’d continued his training. But Spike had a lack of both funds and enthusiasm, leading to August coining the nickname “The Betamax Kid”. Spike has appeared for Pro-Wrestling FRONTIER and the MWA in 2011.
Joey Phoenix
A former protégé of Worthington’s, Joey was initially trained by Matt Montell and took over his mantel as “The Innovator of Insolence”. Joey wrestled with former tag partner Chris Knight all around the UK before going to the US with Worthington to help him attack various members of the MWA. After Worthington was done in the MWA Phoenix returned to the UK and wrestled small local shows once more. He is now good friends with Marcie and Tim.
Mike Blackwood
Mike is a former MWA Millennium Champion and former boyfriend to Marcie. The two are still firm friends and Blackwood has also been Worthington’s gym buddy on occasion. Blackwood is now retired from the wrestling business and runs a motorbike dealership on the south coast of the UK.
Matt Montell
Matt is a former EWF World Champion and later became their commissioner before retiring from in-ring action. Since then he has been a commentator, promotor, merchandise seller and more recently has become involved in the running of Pro-Wrestling FRONTIER where he is the head trainer. He is also Tim Worthington’s father.
Hannah Worthington (Deceased)
Hannah was the daughter to Richard Kendall, former owner of the British Wrestling Alliance. Through her father she met Tim Worthington and became his valet when he moved to the US to join the MWA. The two became romantically linked and were married soon after. Hannah’s first child, Emily Clay, was the subject of a bitter custody battle which spread to the ring as Tim battled Stephen Clay in the MWA. In 2003 Hannah gave birth to Matthew Worthington. In 2007 a tragic car accident took the lives of Hannah and her two children as Tim watched on, powerless to stop the accident.
