August Joyce lost the MWA Millennium Title to “Nightmare” Sean Atwood in April 2009, ending the Canadians near three month reign as champion.
He has not been seen since.
He was a member of The Children of Xu, a group of people brought together by the charismatic Zhen Xu. Xu is a former lawyer turned agent who works out of Vancouver, British Columbia. Other members of the group, Banjamin Doi, Yana Gradlienko and Xanthe Giannakopolous-Joyce (August’s wife) have had no contact with him since last May.
The MWA have not gone public with the news of August’s disappearance, hoping it would be a matter that would be over sooner rather than later. But now, almost a year later, they are starting to reassess the situation. The police have already questioned several people in connection with August’s disappearance. All of the Children of Xu have been questioned, including DeAngelo Castillo who joined the group just before Joyce’s disappearance. Zhen’s other clients, including CJ Osborne and Tess Bolton have also been helping the police with their inquiries. Even Sean Atwood was called in for questioning. No-one was charged, there were no leads. The case has been suspended.
But Xanthe Giannakopolous-Joyce has not given up hope on her husband. She believes that he is still out there, alive and well. And she will do anything to find him.
This new blog has been set up to chronicle the events that lead up to August’s disappearance. Any updates regarding the search will appear here, including any sightings. If you can help, if you think you have seen August Joyce. Please, get in touch now!
